I was born and raised in Central Florida, where mornings often began beneath towering live oaks, quiet wetlands, and back roads that seemed to stretch endlessly through pastures and pine forests. Those places shaped the way I see the world.

As Florida has continued to grow, I’ve watched many of the landscapes I once knew disappear. Orange groves became neighborhoods. Pastures have become shopping centers. Wetlands have been filled, forests cleared, and the wild spaces that once felt endless have grown smaller each year.

Photography began as a way to appreciate the beauty around me. It quickly became something more.

Today, I use photography as a way to document Florida’s remaining wild spaces- not only to celebrate their beauty, but to preserve their stories. Every image is an attempt to slow time for just a moment and create a record of what still exists before it changes.

My work focuses on the relationship between wildlife, habitat, and the rapidly changing landscapes of Florida. Through long term projects like Dear Florida, I hope to encourage people to look beyond a single photograph and consider the places, ecosystems, and species that make this state unlike anywhere else in the world.

I believe conservation begins with connection. People protect what they know, what they understand, and what they love.

If my photographs inspire someone to spend a morning outside, visit a local preserve, notice a bird that had never seen before, or think differently about the future of Florida’s wild places, then they’ve accomplished exactly what I hoped they would.
